FISH is a short 3D animation that was created using Blender 3D and GIMP. It portrays an inquisitive little fish.
For this piece, modelling, rendering and animation were done entirely within Blender. For rendering, node compositing was used together with Blender’s own scanline renderer. Several animation techniques were used:
- Shape key / vertex animation
- Armature rigging
- Soft bodies
- Game engine rigid body actor
- Physics simulation
- Animated procedural textures
- Particles
GIMP was used to create the texture for the fish.
